Question to Parliament on vaping

Joe here asking a question on vaping to MPs as part of Sense about Science excellent Evidence Week, where ordinary people get to ask their questions to Parliament and experts.

His question was:

“My research among 18-24 year olds shows recreational vaping, which is vaping without previously smoking, is very common and potentially a huge problem for their health, but the government regulation only focuses on stopping children vaping and helping smokers quit. So would parliament looking at new evidence on this and considering broadening the focus of the bill.'“

I've already met my local MP Helen Hayes from this who has given me some fantastic advice on how to get issue taken seriously in Parliament, and It was a relief to know I wasn't barking up the wrong tree when Liz Twist MP asked to see my research... Twice!

I recommend this initiative to anyone that wants to engage with their MPs about something that matters to them.

Here is the full session.

My question and answers is at 1:14:33-1:20:33. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5KOOD_hyyM&t=4511s
